Greeting kids & families!

I hope you all took a moment to celebrate our beautiful Earth this past weekend!  If you did not get a chance to go for a walk outside, do some gardening or find ways to reduce, reuse or recycle in your home... each day is a new chance! Let us work together to enjoy & take care of our planet!

Book Week

Exciting news! Book week is on the way!

Kids remember we have 4 very important tasks for book week...
1. Book Campaign 
We are collecting books for 4 schools in Hualqui which burned in the summer fires. Here you will earn house points. Please visit your bookshelf & ask your mom & dad which books you can donate.

2. Book Review
Please ask your librarians for a form after you read any book to make a review for encourage other kids to read. Here you will be placed in the reading rocket competition!

3. Dress your door 
Each class in junior school must decorate your class door focasing on author Marcela Paz. Please investigate about her to bring great ideas for this competition.

4. Readathon
Get sponsers to support your reading in efforts to raise money to buy books for the school in Hualqui.

5. Please encourage your family to come join us at school and read!!

ART-Watercolour

Hello kids,
We have a Junior school Art project on the way for the month of May.  Please take time to get familiar with some of the following points so we can be ready to start having fun being creative & painting.  Go ahead & give painting a try at home!
(Be sure to work responsibly! You must work in a space that can be easily cleaned, you might make a mess so wear an apron & ENJOY!!)

1. Primary, Secondary & Tertiary colours. 

We know that all colours come from 3 primary colours... go ahead & try to mix as many different shades as you can!

2. Next, colours are divided into 2 groups, warm & cold based on shading.

3. We use different brushes to achieve different lines... we must experiment with different tools, creating lines.

4. Textured results come from experimenting with different materials. What might happen if you use a sponge instead of a brush? What might happen if you used wax?
