SA UOI5- Life & Change


Hi kids,
 Its time to prepare our summative assessment (final project) for this past unit.  I hope you learned a lot & are not getting ready to share your knowledge!  You have investigated in many ways... read, watched clips, visited the BLOG, investigated outside & went to Los Pellines... I think you are ready to prepare a project!
Here are the following requirements (your printed rubric will be available in a few days).


SA UOI5 STP-  Life & Change
CI *Living organisms depend on natural resources and transform them to meet their needs.
LOI *Organisms have a specific function in a food chain.
*Changing ecosystems provoke adaptation.
*Living things and natural resources adapt and interact in ecosystems.

After so much learning both in class & at Los Pellines please work on the following project…
1. You must investigate about an ecosystem… (features like temperature, humidity, seasonal changes, climate change…)
2. Identify the habitat including flora & fauna. (Please identify location in Chile & around the world, identify animals/plants and their adaptations which permit survival in this environment)
3. Identify any problems or risks that this place  (or flaura & fauna) may have now or in the future…(societal developments, climate change…)
4. Try to identify cause (fact or potential)
5. Propose an action plan (involving you, a group, a business, the government, etc.) to confront/resolve the issue or promote  protection or conservation…

Student develops an action plan including 2  practical actions (daily by a student) and a  group action plan to halt destruction, prevent damage or negative change, promote conservation (by a larger group such as a school, organization, business, etc.) This plan may be shared with this group after some editing.
Student develops an action plan including 1 practical action (daily by a student) and a group action plan to halt destruction, prevent damage or negative change, promote conservation (by a larger group such as a school, organization, business, etc.) That after more development may be shared to inspire the group to take action.
